Adarsha Vidya Mandir was founded by veteran educationist and pioneer of boarding schools in Nepal revered late Mr. S.N.B. Shrestha in 2022 B.S. He began the school with only 120 students, including day scholars and boarders at a rented building known as Bhairab Bhavan then and now converted into Himalaya Hotel at Kupondol. Now, to its credit, A.V.M has been able to develop its own huge school compound with separate six modern buildings and a spacious playground.
