The Government of Nepal had hoisted the national flag in the palace,turning the former abode of Shah kings into a national museum on 15 June, 2008 after the final exit of the deposed King Gyanendra; thus ending the century old Shah dynasty rule.The palace museum will soon open, offering a glimpse of centuries of royal life, including a jewel-studded crown, a king’s throne, other valuable artifacts accumulated by the Shah dynasty and a vintage car given as a gift by Adolf Hitler.
