Hotel Norbu Sangpo is a recommended modern mid-range place in the north of Bodhnath, about 4km (2.5mi) outside Kathmandu. It’s a good choice if you prefer a Tibetan village vibe over the big city feel of Kathmandu.  The hotel building is modern and marbly, with 26 bright, comfortable and spacious rooms and a nice garden. The corner rooms are generally the best. It’s particularly popular with foreigners studying the Tibetan language or Buddhism nearby or those attending the popular annual dharma courses.
