The New Yorker in my circle raves about the pizza at Roadhouse Cafe, which coming from this stereotypically cynical East Coaster actually means something. Located on Chaksibari Marg in Thamel, Roadhouse’s reputation for good food encompasses not only pizza, but also photo-worthy aromatic soups, and appetizing salads. A meal of spinach, bacon pizza coupled with a warm beet and goat cheese salad satisfies more than just your appetite. It, somehow, quells the sneaky homesickness that can plague even the most dedicated traveler. The only drawback to this well-staffed establishment is that the waiters are relatively negligent and it can take quite sometime to get your bill. When available, however, the service is friendly in this cozy-meets-swank environment. Good for a solitary meal on the back patio, as a meeting place in the main room, or a duo near the bar, Roadhouse offers customers a place to relax and indulge their taste buds a little.
